I missed out on the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter book craze. Although, Whatever begged me to watch the second LOTR movie in theatres, so I went begrudgingy. (Turns out the guy shooting arrows, riding down stairs on a shield, and fighting bad guys was pretty hot.)
Anyway, since I for the most part missed out on those two fads, I decided to get on board with Stephenie Meyer's vampire series, starting with Twilight.
It's painful. I hate it. I want to take the book and hit myself with it. The writing sucks. It's predictable, repetitive, and over uses cliche. If I have to read one more time that Edward's skin is pale or cold, or that the weather is gloomy and damp, I might just throw myself into the Bow River. Am I the only person who notices how much these books stink? Opinions anyone?
I think Sea and I are going to go to the movie tonight. I hope it's better. If not, maybe Nick and Cathrine will find me on the river bank.

I find it hard to compare the literary works of CS Lewis, Victor Hugo and Mr. Tolkein {sp?} to that of a writer of vampires? Are you serious? I mean give your head a shake there sis.
It's not the subject that really matters, it's the style of writing and the quality of writing. I haven't read the others, but I can tell you that I'm not a fan of Meyer. But I "Twiligh" might be geared more at teens, in which case, maybe it's not so bad.
Well, they are comparable in that they've all been subjects of the "let's all jump on the bandwagon and be obsessed about this new series" craze in the past several years. Twilight is the "new Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings" in that sense.
I haven't read Twilight, and don't plan to (I said that about HP too though, and look what happened there...) for two reasons. 1) Everyone else is, and there is that oh-so-wonderful part of my nature that refuses to jump on a bandwagon that everyone else is and 2) from the sounds of it, I wouldn't be interested. A teenage vampire love story? No thanks...
And Catherine has an "e" in it. There's no way she'd find you if you can't even spell her name :P Besides, wouldn't you rather Danny & Flack came instead?
Oh my goodness! What was I thinking?! Has having a bf brainwashed me?! Phew, thanks Mochs for having my back. Yeah, of course I'd want Danny and Flack to come. Don't let me do that again.
